Turn turn turn video

Arriving just months after the folk-rock call to arms of their brilliant debut, the Byrds' second album closely follows the same formula, but what a formula: durable American folksongs from Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, and even Stephen Foster and their own strong originals are laced with the band's keening vocal harmonies and chiming guitars in a mix since institutionalized as a perennial rock dialect. With Seeger's classic title song, the Byrds brought Ecclesiastes onto the charts, importing the urban folk movement's social and political consciousness to the pop mainstream. The lyrics — except for the title, which is repeated throughout the song, and the final two lines — consist of the first eight verses of the third chapter of the biblical Book of Ecclesiastes. The song became an international hit in late when it was adapted by the American folk rock group the Byrds. The single entered the U.

It seems like you havent had enough time to get to know him, and honestly you wont for a while. I chose to get married and move across the state to live with my husband and left my job, family and friends and let me tell you, it's been tremendously difficult to meet new friends in the new town. It doesn't get better. Hence, ensure that the girl or guy you want to date is above 16; although with changing times, some kids may date younger, if your love interest is not keen on going out until 16, then hold off. How many chances will a girl have to find such a wonderful husband candidate. It doesn't get better. She sounds so indoctrinated that like even if you try to get her to open up, who knows you might get like a BJ out of it doesn't sound like it but who knowsyou have to realize that a lifetime of conditioning will be set in motion in her mind that will make your life hell. Please start another thread and continue the conversation. She was masterful at hiding the cuts and bruises with clothing. That is a hard truth.

I met my wife at the age of She literally showed up at my apartment one night, wholly unexpected. That desire that they be someone other than who they were when they married you is toxic to a relationship. Only idiots are unfriendly to non-Mormon spouses. And I don't mean my good friend Satan. With such high standards of perfection, Mormon girls want a man who validates their efforts and confidently provides directionвa man who expects them to be beautiful. Very wise words when tell others to take a very cold hard look at there life. I wouldn't swap roles with my husband any day, he definitly has it the hardest. Dating a mormon girl. Pickings are slim at church. There will, in fact, still be churches besides our own.

This album is just as great as the band's first album and is a great mixture of cover songs as well as originals.

It was released only a few months after Mr Tambourine Man and pretty much picks up where that album left off. The number of Dylan covers are cut in half here while McGuinn gets a bit more on the songwriting front and David Crosby gets his first co writing credit on a Byrds album.

Gene Clark turns in several more great originals as well. Just a terrific album from beginning to end and the bonus cuts are as good as the stuff on the main album. You get brilliantly re-mastered music and original album art expanded into gatefold jackets containing period photos. We always tend to think of Jim McGuinn as the leader of the Byrds and he was ; But in the beginning, the chief architects were truly he and Clark.

This would be the last full-blown early album for Clark One person found this helpful. Stereo or mono? If you are looking to buy any Byrds albums on vinyl, be aware of what is being offered as no info is provided on this site as to whether these are mono or stereo releases.

The photos of the album covers are not accurate as they all say "stereo" at the top. All the Sundazed releases currently are Mono. All the Friday Music releases are stereo. I think there are other imported releases like Mr Tambourine Man and Fifth Dimension that are in stereo. Their gatefold album covers are meticulously printed and look beautiful.

Very high quality releases. Sundazed is also high quality but Mono. Sounds great in mono and the audiophiles vinyl is clean and quiet. The added 3D of stereo really sounds fantastic as the separation of instruments really opens it up. Definitely worth looking for stereo copies of these albums.

In fact, if you love these records having both mono and stereo releases is the way to go! The Byrds were one of the bright spots in , on their debut album "Mr. Their 2nd album "Turn! The great chestnut "Satisfied Mind", their first take on their country sound to come. Clark again gives another haunter in "If You're Gone", listen closely to those harmonies!

Ever since i got this album 35 years ago, i've loved their take of Stephen Foster's "Oh! Susannah", a masterpiece, i know some people don't care for it, but it just struck-a-chord with me, the Rickenbacker is totally awesome here and Michael Clarke's sparse drum fills is classic. Their first take on "The Times They Are A-Changin'", very different than what was on the album, this might be my favorite version.

Their first version of Dylan's "It's All Over Baby Blue", They would use it again on "The Ballad Of Easy Rider", in , the record company didn't think it was strong enough for the album, solid and a keeper in my book.

Clark's first version of "She Don't Care About Time", beautiful, with a nice harmonica, guitar break, the ending of this version sound like the Rolling Stones' "Let's Spend The Night Together", so this predates that tune by a good 2 years. The great American band for the 60's, it's too bad we don't have bands like this anymore. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews. Translate all reviews to English. My major issue with The Byrds' debut album was its lack of diversity in its vocal and harmonic approach.
